pointless post you might think, but i have just recieved my new bluetooth headset in the post this morning, after only ordering it at the weekend and here is my lil review of it so far.
Well this little gadget is well, little, its small, compact and doesnt weigh too much, not your typical headset which wraps around your ear, no, this is a stereo headset so it as 2 earpieces, just like normal headphones. but instead of connecting to your mobile phone, or any other bluetooth enabled music device this has a little, well im gonna call it a dongle, which has a hidden display, what I mean by that is, is that you can't see where it starts or stops the display, only comes when a track changes or when you press the menu button. which brings me onto the menu.
The menu has 3 different options, Contacts - you can see which contacts you have on your mobile phone and call them from your headset, which is a nice feature, saves you having to get your phone out of your pocket, selecting which contact you want to call and then using your headset. Next menu option is Call List - you can see which people you have called or who has called you, makes it easier than going into contacts especially when you need to ring someone back straight away. Last Option is Device list - This lists the devices that are connected to your headset, this headset has a capability of connecting to 10 devices at once, which for a bluetooth enabled device is rather astonishing, i have yet to try that feature out but im sure its really good, just like the rest of it.
The buttons on the dongle are rather easy to use, there is a play and stop button the top, a volume up/down button which is on the side at the bottom along with the menu button, and on the side on the top is the track forward/backwards button which you slide to choose which way to go. All easy to use and seem fairly robust.
Next bit is an important part of the headset, sound quality. The sound quality of this headset is fantastic, when listening to music through it is brilliant, unfortunately for those of you who like your heavy bass, there is no option to turn it up, which is disappointing but nothing major as it sounds great anyway. When making a call the voice quality is also brilliant, not only in my ear but the person who is listening to oyu on the other end, the person who I tested it with had said that my voice was crystal clear so that is a great sign.
Another thing i should mention. Battery life, this headset can last 6 hours with constant music listening, not sure what it is just on standby but i will look into that. But when charging you can still use the headset which is rather different to other bluetooth headsets which you cant use, I know its pointless but still rather good anyway.
Finally price - you really need to look around to get a decent deal, first place i looked was and they were charging around £85 for this, looked elsewhere but found no cheaper than the actually sony shop, which was £69.99 plus £3.50 p+p. which is the cheapest i found, and for a top quality headset i thought was a great price.
Wireless is the way to go people, so get going.
